Title: Twists and turns in the nonlinear Schrodinger equation
Abstract: Much is known about the discrete and continuous versions of the one and two-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger equation. Motivated by modeling light propagation in novel photonic structures, I will discuss variations of the NLSE in two scenarios: twisting of a photonic structure in the direction of propagation and nonlinear optics with fractional diffraction.
