Title: Almost extreme Stokes waves and their stability: numerics
Abstract: We consider 2D Euler equations with a free surface and irrotational flow. The Stokes waves that propagate along the free surface are a one-parameter family of solutions characterized by steepness. We discuss methods for finding the Stokes waves, and study their stability to quasiperiodic longitudinal perturbations in Euler equations. The numerics are based on shift-and-invert iterations in canonical conformal variables, and rely on Bloch (Fourier-Floquet-Hill) theory.
