Congratulations to Adjunct Professor Gunther Uhlmann who is newly elected to the National Academy of Sciences.
Professor Uhlmann is the Robert R. and Elaine F. Phelps Professor of Mathematics at UW, with an adjunct appointment in our department. He works on inverse problems, partial differential equations, and related problems.
Professor Uhlmann joins Professors Chris Bretherton and Randy LeVeque (Sciences) and Adjunct Professors Betz Halloran (Medicine) and Jim Riley (Engineering) in the National Academies.
